If you want to add an event you first need to have different event categories planned. Go to the "Event" module, and click on "Add Event" on the top right side.

Now you can see the event calendar. On the top side are two additional menu options, "Events list" and "Event categories". Choose event categories to add new categories.

Now go back to the event calendar en click on "Add Event". A window will open where you can enter the details about your new event: its name and a description of the event, the type, the date and location, the target of the event and more. When you're finished, click "Save" and the event will appear on your calendar.
