If you want to add an event you first need to have different event categories planned. Go to the "Event" module, and click on "Add Event" on the top right side.

Now you can see the event calendar. On the top side are two additional menu options, "Events list" and "Event categories". Choose event categories to add new categories.

Now go back to the event calendar and click on "Add Event". A window will open where you can enter the details about your new event: its name and a description of the event, the type, the date and location, the target of the event. 

You can also check the RSVP box and invite parents and teachers to answer if they are coming or not to the event you created. For more details about the RSVP function, click here.  
Last but not least, if the event is paid, you can enter a price for it and also set 2 reminders to be automatically sent to the participants at a desired time. 

When you're finished, click "Save" and the event will appear on your calendar.
