To ensure transparency, this article explains how our payment system works, why payment links are exclusive to our platform or app, and why we cannot send separate links for payments outside the system.
We also address common concerns from parents about app access, data security, and our adherence to privacy regulations.
How Kinderpedia Facilitates Payments
Kinderpedia operates as a marketplace platform, enabling schools to manage invoicing and payments securely. Here’s how the process works:
Invoice Creation: Schools generate invoices directly from their Kinderpedia account. Each invoice is uniquely tied to its own identifier within the system.
Secure Payment Links:
The invoice includes a payment link accessible only through the Kinderpedia platform or app.
This link is essential for marking the invoice as paid within our system. For this reason, separate Stripe payment links cannot be sent manually or used independently.
Accessing and Paying Invoices
Parents have two secure options for accessing and paying their invoices:
Via the Kinderpedia Web Platform:
Log in to your Kinderpedia account to view and pay invoices. The payment link within the platform ensures your transaction is securely recorded.
Via the Kinderpedia Mobile App:
Download the app, where you will receive notifications and have direct access to your invoices.
By clicking the "Pay with cared" button in the app, you will be redirected to the integrated Stripe link, enabling secure and efficient payment.
Why Manual Payment Links Are Not Provided
For security and system integrity, Kinderpedia does not send manual or separate payment links outside the platform or app. Here’s why:
System Integration: The payment link is tied to the invoice ID in Kinderpedia. This ensures that once payment is made, the invoice is automatically marked as paid in the system.
Risk Mitigation: Sending payment links outside Kinderpedia introduces security risks and disrupts the tracking of payments.
Simplified Access: Using the platform or app centralizes all invoice and payment data, making it easier for schools and parents to stay organized.
Addressing Privacy Concerns
We understand that some parents may have concerns about cookies, app updates, or data tracking. Here’s how we address these concerns:
Cookie Usage: Kinderpedia requires only essential cookies for the platform to function. Optional cookies (e.g., for analytics) can be declined.
Parents can choose to decline non-essential cookies, such as analytics or marketing cookies, during their first login.
Privacy Regulations: Kinderpedia complies with GDPR and other privacy laws, ensuring your data is protected and used responsibly.
No Third-Party Tracking Beyond Necessity: Any data collected is for the sole purpose of improving your experience and maintaining platform security.
Why Use the App or Platform?
The integrated system offers multiple benefits:
Security: Payments processed through Kinderpedia ensure the invoice is marked as paid and securely linked to your account.
Accuracy: Avoids errors or mismatched payments that can occur with external links.
Convenience: Notifications and invoice updates are easily accessible within the app or web platform.
For Parents Preferring Manual Links
While we understand that some parents may prefer manual links or alternative payment methods, our platform cannot accommodate this due to the following:
Payment links outside Kinderpedia cannot update the system to reflect payment status.
The exclusive use of Kinderpedia ensures that all data remains centralized, secure, and transparent.
Parents who face challenges with the app or platform access can also pay invoices via bank transferusing the bank information provided on the school invoice. This offers an alternative payment method, although manual updates may be required to mark the invoice as paid within the system.

Why Payments May Fail When Accessing Kinderpedia from Certain Regions
Some parents have reported issues completing payments from regions like China or Hong Kong. Here’s a short explanation of why this might occur and what can be done.
Understanding the Issue
The payment link provided in Kinderpedia is managed by Stripe, our trusted payment processor. The link is the same regardless of the country from which it is accessed, and Kinderpedia does not alter or influence it based on location. If a payment works when accessed from Europe but fails in another region, it is likely due to factors outside Kinderpedia’s control, such as:
Internet Restrictions:
In regions like China, strict internet regulations (e.g., the "Great Firewall") may block or restrict access to certain global services, including Stripe.
Banking and Card Issues:
Some banks or card issuers in restricted regions may block international payments for online transactions.
Cards that are not supported by Stripe, such as some UnionPay cards, may also result in failed payments.
Security Measures:
Certain IP addresses (e.g., those from VPNs or restricted regions) may be flagged or blocked by Stripe or financial institutions for security reasons.
Why a Separate Payment Link Wouldn’t Solve the Issue
Even if parents were to receive a separate payment link outside Kinderpedia, the issue would persist. This is because the restrictions and challenges mentioned above are tied to regional internet access, banking regulations, and payment processor policies, not Kinderpedia’s platform.
What Can Parents Do?
If you encounter payment difficulties from a restricted region, here are some steps to resolve the issue:
Try Paying from a Different Location:
If possible, attempt the payment from a region with fewer internet restrictions, such as Europe.
Check with Your Bank or Card Issuer:
Ensure that your card supports international transactions and is authorized for online payments.
Use an Alternative Payment Method:
Consider paying via bank transfer using the bank details provided on the school invoice.
Consult Stripe’s Documentation or Support:
Visit Stripe’s support center for detailed information on payment failures and troubleshooting steps.
