1. How do I add a discipline / activity?
First go to the"Activities" module and click on "Main Activities".
Now click on the green button "Add activity".
Attention! When you add an activity, it will be visible in the list of activities for all groups (it will not be scheduled in the calendar, it will only be displayed in the list on the left side of the calendar). To change this, you must edit the activity and change what groups have access to the activity (to find out how to edit an activity, see below - "How do I edit an activity?").
If an activity is used in several groups / classes, for example if there is an activity called "Mathematics" and it is used in grades V - VIII, it is NOT necessary to create a new activity from the "Main Activities" page for each group / class and thus have 4 duplicate activities with the name "Mathematics", it is enough to add it only once and make it available for the groups / classes that need to use it.
Name the activity, choose a "color", choose an "icon" and select "Attendance" to be active if you want the attendance for that activity to be counted (* attendance for the activity is not related to the daily attendance, that is done from "Check-in" in the mobile application or from "Presence and Daily Report" in the WEB platform). Choose a rating type - "badges", "smiley faces" or "grades", finally click "Save".
2. How do I edit a discipline / activity?
Access the "Activities" module and click on "Main Activities".
Now you just need to find the activity that you wish to modify and click on the grey button "Edit" situated on the same row with that activity's name.
After clicking on the "Edit" button, a window will open where you can change which groups will have access to the activity, name, color, if it is an activity visible only for teachers ("Staff only"), if it is an individual activity, type of evaluation (badges, smiley faces or grades from 1 to 10), if attendance is necessary and if it has a price. Also here you can find the delete button to remove it from the list of activities.

3. How do I schedule an activity in the calendar?
Go to "Activities" > "Planner". From here you just need to drag & drop activities in the calendar from the list on the left. In order to modify the duration of an activity just click and hold on the bottom border of an activity in the calendar and drag it up or down.
4. How can I add a description to a discipline / activity?
Go to "Activities" and click on the activity in the calendar and then click on "Edit activity details".
In the field where it says "Description" you can add a text description or a link (for YouTube for example) that students can click on. After entering the description click on "Save" to save the changes. The description will be visible for the student in their calendar / daily timeline.
5. How do I add a file to a discipline / activity?
Go to "Activities" and click on the activity in the calendar and then click on "Edit activity details".
To attach a file, click "Upload File", select the desired file from your computer and finally click "Save" to save the changes.
6. How do I set a discipline / activity to be recurring?
To set an activity to be recurring, go to "Activities" > "Planner" and click on the activity in the calendar, then click on "Edit activity details".
Now click on the check box next to "Repeat". In the window that shows up, check the boxes for the days in which you want the activity to repeat, select the end date and click on "Save".
After saving the activity, you will see in the activity calendar the letter "[R] (e.g. "[R] Math") next to the activity's name indicating that it's a recurring activity.
7. How do I add comments / grades for students? How can I configure grades / badges?
From your laptop / desktop PC, if you go to the calendar of activities and click on an activity, next to each child you can associate an icon or grade depending on how the activity is configured (see "How do I edit a discipline / activity" above) but also a text observation (next to a child's name in the list, click on the gray button ).
To configure the badges go to "Activities" and click on "Configuration".
Now click on "Configuration: Evaluations".
From here you can add and rename badges. To add a badge click on the green "+ Add a badge" button, to rename the badge click on the text below the badge. Finally click on "Save" to save the changes.
8. How do I set a discipline / activity to be individual or with students from different classes / groups?
When creating a discipline / activity (see above "How do I add a discipline / activity?") You must check "Yes" where it says "Individual activity".
The next step is to schedule it in the calendar (see above "How do I schedule an activity in the calendar?"). After scheduling the activity in the calendar, click on it.
In the window that opens, click on "Edit activity details".
In the next screen, click on the white space next to "Activity visible for" and choose the student or students you want to participate in this activity / discipline, you can select students from other classes. At the end click on the green button below "Save" to save the changes.
9. Adding grades / comments from the mobile application.
Comments can also be added from the Kinderpedia mobile application for teachers. To add an observation / grade go to "Daily Timeline" and select the discipline / activity.
Click on "Observations", in the next screen select the children for whom you want to add the observation and / or the grade / badge for the evaluation and click on "Next".
In the next screen select the grade/ badge, write the observation and click on "Save" to save the changes.
10. How do I delete a discipline / activity from the calendar?
To delete an activity from the calendar, click on it and then click on "Edit activity details" and click on the red "Delete" button.
If you are trying to delete a recurring activity, after clicking the "Delete" button a small pop-up window will ask you if you want to delete only the selected activity or the following activities as well.
11. How do I delete a discipline / activity from the "Main Disciplines / Activities" list?
To delete an activity from the activity list, go to "Activities"> "Main Activities". Now click on the "Edit" button next to the activity you want to delete.
In the next screen you can see the red "Delete" button, click on it to delete the activity.
ATTENTION! If there are scheduled activities in the calendar (including activities scheduled in the past) they will be deleted as well and the data (grades / attendance) will be lost, use this function with caution.
12. How can I find a discipline / activity scheduled in the schedule?
If you do not know at what date and time a discipline / activity was scheduled, go to "Activities" and click on "Planned Activities".
In the "Search" box you can type the name of the discipline / activity and all the scheduled subjects with that name will be listed below, under the "Date" column you will see the date and time they were scheduled and under the "Group / Class" column you will see and to which group / class it was scheduled. If you click on the gray "Edit" button you can directly edit that scheduled activity.
13. How can I modify the percentage/weight from the partial examination(teză/thesis) / exam that affects the final average?
To do this, go to the "Activities" module and select "Configuration".
Now click on "Configuration: Evaluations".
Scroll down until you see the box for "Exam / Thesis", there you can click on the number next to "Final average weight (%)" and modify it. After you finish the modifications, don't forget to click on "Save" in order to save them.
14. How can I configure a grade type that does not impact the gradebook and how do I apply it to a scheduled activity?
First, go to the "Activities" module and click on "Configuration".
Now click on "Configuration: Evaluations".
Scroll down and click on on the green button "Add grade" and a box will appear for the new grade. Type a name for the new grade type, check "OFF" next to "Affects average from gradebook" and after you're done, click on "Save".
Now in order to apply the new grade type to an activity, go to the "Planner" section in the "Activities" module and schedule and activity in the calendar if you haven't done so already (steps are explained above in section #3).
Next, click on the activity that is scheduled in the calendar and select "Edit activity details".
Next to "Grade type" select the grade type that you have configured previously and then click on "Save".
